Hawk's Agro

Operations Assistant – Neville Location

Hawk’s Agro,  a division of JGL, is a proud locally owned and operated independent agriculture retailer, based in seven locations throughout South Western Saskatchewan.  We are currently recruiting for an Operations Assistant to join our team based out of our Neville, Saskatchewan location.  The ideal candidate must possess knowledge of the agriculture industry.  This position will ensure accuracy of records and product quality while assisting in receiving and shipment of farm supplies within the facility

Hawk’s Agro has locations in Central Butte, Gravelbourg, Rouleau, Moose Jaw, Strongfield, Neville  and Swift Current.  Each location provides crop input services along with in crop production services which include: crop protection and fertilizer sales, fertilizer blending, and Agronomy services.

As an Operations Assitant at Hawk’s Agro, you will work with location staff as well as directly with growers to deliver farm input products from our facilities to their locations in a timely and safe manner

Duties & Responsibilities

for this position include:

  • Selling seed, fertilizer and crop protection products to new and existing customers
  • Identifying agronomic needs and helping customers in making good crop input decisions
  • Prospecting customers, building customer relationships and closing sales
  • Providing basic crop input recommendations to customers
  • Being the primary contact for customers and managing customer accounts
  • Providing outstanding customer service and proactively engaging customers in discussing their crop input needs
  • Working with the sales and administration team to manage credit and collections
  • Leading and engaging with the location team on a daily basis

Requirements

for this position include:

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid drivers license
  • 1A drivers license would be an asset
  • Proven ability to work with others (team player), as well as the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work long hours when required
  • Knowledge of Agriculture or past experience would be an asset

Hawk's Agro

Sales Representative – Central Butte Location

Hawk’s Agro,  a division of JGL, is a proud locally owned and operated independent agriculture retailer, based in seven locations throughout South Western Saskatchewan.  We are currently recruiting for a Sales Representative to join our team based out of our Central Butte, Saskatchewan location.  The ideal candidate must possess knowledge of the agriculture industry.  This position will have primary contact with growers to promote and advise on a vast variety of products and services that are provided by our company.

Hawk’s Agro has locations in Central Butte, Gravelbourg, Rouleau, Moose Jaw, Strongfield, Neville  and Swift Current.  Each location provides crop input services along with in crop production services which include: crop protection and fertilizer sales, fertilizer blending, and Agronomy services.

As a Sales Representative at Hawk’s Agro, you will work with head office and location staff as well as directly with growers to assist them in maximizing their business operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

for this position include:

  • Assist in receiving and shipment of farm supplies within the facility
  • Ensure accuracy of records and product quality
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory control
  • Operation of agricultural and industrial equipment

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a customer service or sales capacity
  • Experience in the agriculture industry
  • Post secondary education in agribusiness, business admin, or marketing
  • Exceptional communication & analytical skills
  • Strong technical, interpersonal and organizational skills

Hawk's Agro

Precision Agronomy Lead

Crop 360, a division of JGL, is a proud locally owned and operated independent agriculture retailer, based in seven locations throughout South Western Saskatchewan (Central Butte, Rouleau, Swift Current, Neville, Gravelbourg, Strongfield and Moose Jaw). We are currently looking for a Precision Agronomy Lead to join our team. This position can be based out of any one of our locations with the option to work remotely. This position focuses on leading the Crop360 VR program. In this role you will be responsible for implementing and promoting Crop360 VR in the trade area. The ideal candidate has a passion for precision agronomy and an interest in product promotion.

Crop 360 is our full service agronomy, product trialing and soil sampling service working with growers across Hawks Agros trade area. As a Precision Agronomy Lead at Crop 360 you will work directly with farm customers to create customized variable rate application recommendations to address issues and increase profitability on the farm.

Duties & Responsibilities

for this position include:

  • Crop360 VR Program
  • Serve as a leader in promotion of Crop360 VR
  • Prospect new Crop360 VR customers
  • Write prescriptions for Crop360 VR customers
  • Precision Agronomy Leader
  • Lead implementation of Crop360 VR program
  • Work the BDM to develop Crop360 VR strategies
  • Manage mapping, sampling and prescription writing
  • Work with Crop360 agronomists on Crop360 VR strategies

Requirements

for this position include:

  • Understanding of soil based zone mapping process
  • Strong background in soil fertility
  • Knowledge of local weed species and familiarity with the biology and control of local pests
  • Related post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of field and industry experience
  • Eligible for membership in Sask Institute of Agrologists
  • Ability to interpret soil, tissue and seed tests
  • Able to make zone based fertility recommendations
  • Possess a valid drivers license
